Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Former executive chairman of Nepal Share Markets and Finance Limited Yogendra Prasad Shrestha has been arrested.
The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police arrested Shrestha from Sitapaila of Nagarjun municipality-5 in Kathmandu on Sunday.
Shrestha, 69, of Kathmandu metropolis-24 was arrested acting on a complaint filed by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB).
The Supreme Court on August 21, 2081 had pronounced the accused in two cases.
He has been sentenced to three years in jail and fined Rs 194.61 million in one case. Similarly, the court slapped a fine of Rs 3,21,39,681 and a three-year jail term of Rs 22,67,41,343 and six years imprisonment.
He has been produced before the Kathmandu District Court for the execution of court verdict, according to the CIB.
