Seven killed in Iranian missile and drone attack in UAE

Kathmandu. At least seven people have been killed in the United Arab Emirates since February 28 as a result of Iranian missile and drone strikes, the country’s defence ministry said Monday.

Among the dead were two soldiers and five civilians, while 145 people from different countries were injured. During this period, the UAE security forces intercepted and destroyed 304 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles and 1,627 drones launched from Iran. Six ballistic missiles and 21 drones were used in Monday’s attack, which caused damage in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Fujairah and um al-Quwain. Abu Dhabi: A Palestinian was killed when a missile hit a civilian vehicle in the Al-Bahyah area of Abu Dhabi.

Fuel tanks caught fire near Dubai International Airport and flights were briefly suspended when a drone attack caused the US to attack it. A fire also broke out at the Fujairah oil industry, but there were no casualties. The UAE Ministry of Defense said it was on high alert in anticipation of any further attacks.
