Kathmandu. As many as 11 big and small road projects are being upgraded in Baglung at a cost of Rs 50 billion. According to the District Road Division Office, 11 roads worth Rs 20 million to Rs 250 million are being upgraded.
The upgradation of the Harichaur-Malma-Pandavkhani-Rammuwa-Bhimgithe-Nisikhola road section of Galkot Municipality has reached the final stage of blacktopping at the cost of Rs 250 million. The road which is the biggest project operated by the Office has achieved 70 percent physical progress. The other 10 roads have been contracted since 2081.
Chief of Division Road Office, Baglung, Hari Subedi, said that 11 roads worth Rs 495.4 million are being upgraded in the district. According to Subedi, the blacktopping of the Harichaur-Malma-Pandavkhani road has been delayed despite the agreement being signed after 2081 BS.
Works like clearing landslides, digging up the road and upgrading the road are going on along the Pakhute-Biokhola-Jhimpa-Nisi road section. The project is being constructed at a cost of Rs 15.8 million by signing an agreement with MS Indreni Jawala JV. The physical progress of the road is 55 per cent.
The upgradation of the road section from Ranasinghkiteni Dobhan to Ramuwa of Galkot Municipality-10 has been started by signing a contract agreement with MSKONDA Sarbasiddhi JV at a cost of Rs 13.2 million.
The contract for the upgradation of the Achhete-Multhana-Sim road has been expedited at Rs 21.1 million. The physical progress of the road has been 55 percent. The Dullebesi-Amarpuri-Daraudi-Suntalachaur road in Phalebas Municipality is being upgraded at a cost of Rs 24.3 million. The progress of the road has reached 60 percent. The road should be handed over by July 2083.
The road linking Adarsha Primary School Dandathar, via Syalpakha to Bhairavsthan is also being upgraded. 54 percent of the road construction has been completed at the cost of Rs 21.7 million. The up-gradation of Mangalikhola-Dhamja-Beldhunga-Myagdi road has begun after signing a contract of Rs 22.9 million in 2082 BS.
The Bangechaur-Upallachaur road upgradation was completed in January 2081 at a cost of Rs 67.2 million. Preparations are underway to gravel the road for blacktopping. Similarly, 55 per cent of the road linking Kundu via Ratmata-Kolko-Ghumti-Rithabot-Pakhathar of Baglung municipality-3 has been upgraded at a cost of Rs 22.5 million.
