Kathmandu. The US President and the Prime Minister of Israel are at loggerheads over the attack on Iran’s South Pars gas field. After Israel’s attack on the region, Iran has launched a retaliatory attack on the Middle East’s energy infrastructure, which has pushed up energy prices around the world. The incident has also worried Gulf countries and put pressure on the US president to curb Israel’s move.
According to the US President, he did not agree to Israel’s attack. He warned the Prime Minister not to take such a step. According to him, the US and Israel are generally coordination, but sometimes different decisions can be taken. On the other hand, the Israeli Prime Minister said that his country had made an independent decision and agreed to stop further attacks at the request of the United States.
There are also differences between the two leaders in terms of security strategy and objectives. The US is mainly focused on destroying Iran’s missile program and nuclear capability and weakening its military capability. Israel is trying to topple Iran’s current religious leadership through a high-profile assassination campaign and regime change. While support for the American public in the war is low, public support for Israel is greater than that of the United States, which gives Israel the political freedom to continue its aggression for a long time.
Earlier, the US president had warned the Iranian people that they would have a chance to change their regime, but now he seems less optimistic. “In particular, Iran’s paramilitary forces (Basij) have suppressed widespread protests and created challenging conditions for civilians,” he said. While the US president and the Israeli prime minister differ on their approach to the war, analysts say these differences are superficial at the moment, but the long-term effects of the war and political pressure are likely to make the differences clearer.
Although relations between Israel and the United States are close, the president will ultimately have more influence over the decision to start and end the war. Israel’s main concern is not the global energy market and the price of oil, which shows the difference in strategic decisions between the two countries.
