Kathmandu. The statistics related to government income, expenditure and debt of all three levels of Nepal, including federal, provincial and local, can now be easily viewed in one place. The ‘Nepal Fiscal Dashboard’ prepared by the World Bank Nepal was made public last month. In this context, the World Bank Nepal organized a presentation and interaction with the Association of Economic Journalists of Nepal (NAFIJ) on Friday.

Through this dashboard, one can view, analyze and download the budget, revenue, expenditure, debt and financial indicators of the federal, provincial and local governments in a single place. There are three levels of government in Nepal. Each has its own budget, revenue source and expenditure. All this data is scattered in different places, which the World Bank has created to visualize and analyze on a single platform.

According to the bank, the dashboard is interactive and user-friendly with an integrated system. Users can choose the year, data type they want, and change the chart using a variety of filters. The data can be seen as a share of GDP, a share of the total budget or on a per capita basis.

The dashboard includes historical data from 2018 to 2022. The new data will be updated as it becomes available, the bank said. Budget speeches, integrated financial statements published by the Office of Auditor General and data of public bodies including Nepal Rastra Bank have been used as sources. All of this data is publicly available. The World Bank has compiled it on a single platform.

No login is required to use the dashboard and anyone can use it freely. No permission is required for the use, but since the data comes from a government source, it is advisable to cite the source.
