Kathmandu. Electric vehicles (EVs) worth Rs 16.32 billion have been imported in the first eight months of the current fiscal year.
According to the statistics of the Department of Customs, a large number of cars were brought in with vehicles that were assembled and assembled from mid-July to mid-March. The government has collected Rs 9.57 billion in revenue from the import of EVs till mid-March.
According to the Department of Customs, two 50 kW EVs were unassembled during this period. Similarly, 2,198 vehicles with 50 kW, 3,672 vehicles with 51 to 100 kW, 519 vehicles with 101 to 200 kW capacity and seven EVs with 201 to 300 kW capacity have arrived till mid-March.
During this period, EVs of 51 to 100 kW were the highest ever imported. At the same time, three-wheeler EVs are also found to be indoors at a high rate. According to the data, 6,015 three-wheelers worth Rs 65.59 crore have been imported till the month of March.
During this period, 2 unassembled vehicles have arrived from India while 1,313 EVs with 50 KW capacity have been imported from China and 885 from India till mid-March.
Similarly, 2,614 vehicles with 51 kW to 100 kW capacity were imported from China, 617 from India, 440 from Thailand and 1 from the UK.
Similarly, 468 vehicles with the capacity of 101 to 200 kilowatts have entered Nepal from China, 29 from India, 10 from Germany, two from Korea and 10 from America. According to the department, one vehicle with the capacity of 201 to 300 kilowatts has been imported from the US, four from China and one from Australia.
