Rs 6 billion revenue collected from Mustang customs office

Mustang. The Mustang Customs Office at North Korea has collected Rs 6.75 billion in revenue in the current fiscal year.

The office, which came into full operation from September 14, has collected Rs 5.71 billion in revenue till March 21.

Office chief Ramesh Khadka said goods worth Rs 12.17 billion were imported through the border point while goods worth Rs 203 million were exported to China during the period.

Ramesh Khadka, chief of the Mustang Customs Office, said that a total of 2,347 electric vehicles entered Nepal from Korala border have passed the customs clearance so far. Customs Chief Khadka said that 1,804 containers have cleared the customs from the Mustang Customs Office.

Korala border point of Mustang was used as an alternative transit point after Rasuwagadhi and Tatopani border points were completely closed due to landslides in June and July last year.

Immediately after this, the Department of Customs of the Government of Nepal made the Korala border point, which was used as an alternative, fully operational. The Mustang Customs Office, which collects Rs 10-15 lakhs in revenue annually, has been able to collect remarkable revenue since September.
