SIPRADI honors new leadership of Truck Transport Entrepreneurs Federation, commits to strengthening cooperation

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Sipradi Trading Pvt. Ltd. has honored and congratulated the elected office-bearers of the eighth general convention of Federation of Truck Transport Entrepreneurs of Nepal. The 17th annual general meeting and eighth general convention of the FNCCI held on January 11 had formed a new working committee under the chairmanship of Rajendra Bikram Baniya.

Welcoming the new leadership, SIPRADI expressed its commitment to further strengthen the collaboration. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rajan Babu Shrestha, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SIPRADI Trading Pvt. Ltd. pledged to continuously collaborate with the new leadership and contribute to the development of the transportation sector.

He stressed on the need of technical training and awareness among drivers and businessmen to face the challenges of new technology, especially BS-6 standard. According to him, SIPRADI has already tested its vehicles keeping in mind the geographical condition and road infrastructure of Nepal. He also said that the company has made preparations to produce technical manpower and upgrade workshops to strengthen maintenance services across the country.

Stating that the task of imparting training to private mechanics has also been forwarded, he said collaboration among all sides was necessary for easy adaptation to new technology. Likewise, President Baniya pointed out the need of strengthening the policy and regulation for the protection of the domestic transport business. Stating that the free entry of Indian vehicles has affected Nepali business, he urged the government to pay attention to its management and regulation.

According to him, the increasing use of foreign vehicles has affected domestic investment and employment. He also questioned the 20-year-old vehicle replacement policy and called for a practical policy as per the context of Nepal. He also urged the company to provide training to private mechanics for the effective use of new BS-6 vehicles, expand quality workshops throughout the country and provide genuine parts at affordable rates.

The significant share of vehicles in the Nepali market, its contribution to the supply chain and the long association between SIPRADI and the federation were also discussed. The meeting pointed out the need to make Nepal’s transport sector more systematic, safe and technology-friendly through coordination among business, government and consumers.
