Kathmandu. The newly-elected members of the House of Representatives have taken oath of office and secrecy.
Senior-most member of the House of Representatives, Arjun Narsingh KC, administered the oath of office and secrecy to them amidst a programme organised at the newly-constructed multipurpose hall of the Federal Parliament Secretariat in Singha Durbar today. KC administered the oath of office and secrecy to President Ram Chandra Poudel on Wednesday.
According to Article 99 and 91 (5) of the Constitution of Nepal and Article 75 of the Election of the House of Representatives Act, 2074, the oath of office and secrecy is to be taken.
In the election to the House of Representatives held on March 4, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) won 182 seats, Nepali Congress 38, CPN-UML 25, Nepali Communist Party 17, Labour and Culture Party seven and Rastriya Prajatantra Party five.
