Kathmandu. The newly elected members of the House of Representatives have taken oath of office and secrecy.

The senior-most member of the House of Representatives, Arjun Narsingh KC, is scheduled to administer the oath of office and secrecy. President Ram Chandra Poudel administered the oath of office and secrecy to KC on Wednesday.

The swearing-in ceremony of the members of the House of Representatives is taking place at the newly-constructed multi-purpose hall in Singha Durbar. According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, preparations are underway to take oath of office and secrecy in 47 languages other than Nepali. Of them, 17 are preparing to take oath in Maithili.

According to Article 99 and 91 (5) of the Constitution of Nepal and Article 75 of the Election of the House of Representatives Act, 2074, the oath of office and secrecy is to be taken.
