. KATHMANDU: Newly-appointed Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has directed the government to adopt a zero-tolerance policy against corruption.

Directing the employees after assuming office at the Home Ministry today, he announced to take stern action against the corrupt people. “There is tolerance to listen to corruption and if someone asks for bribe, it is not left unattended,” he said. ”

Stating that he has come to the leadership of the Ministry to deliver results to the people, Home Minister Gurung directed the concerned authorities to ensure speedy delivery of service through a one-door system. He said he would focus on talking less and showing results.

“Service delivery has been given top priority. The situation of needing room 1, 2, 3 or A, B, C should end, and good governance can be brought by not having to clash with the service seekers,” he said.

Stating that the decision of the Council of Ministers to implement the people’s mandate of Jenji should be adopted by all, he made it clear that no one has the excuse to say that the government’s decisions will not be implemented.

In his address, Home Minister Gurung said that the present change was possible due to the sacrifice of the youths and asked them to observe a minute’s silence in memory of the martyrs.
