. Kathmandu: The CPN-UML Secretariat has announced a nationwide protest programme demanding the immediate release of former Prime Minister and CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli.

Terming Oli’s arrest as ‘illegal and political vendetta’, the UML has decided to strongly defend it through both legal and political means.TAG_OPEN_p_16

According to the Party Secretariat, the following programs will be implemented immediately:

1. To make a strong legal and political defense with the determination of the general public, civil society and various left-progressive forces.

2. People’s organizations will stage protests in the district headquarters at 3 pm today.

3. Submit a protest letter to the Chief District Officer (CDO) Office on March 29 at 12 noon in the organization of the District Party Committee.

4. Communicate and collaborate with all political parties upholding democracy and rule of law, as well as coordinating with civil society and the general public.
