Gulmi. A pedestrian died after being hit by a jeep at Chandrakot Rural Municipality in the district.

The deceased has been identified as 55-year-old Tulasi Thapa of Chandrakot rural municipality-4, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ganga Bahadur Saru of the District Police Office.

The accident took place when a Safari jeep (Lu 1 Ja 1834) en route to Shantipur from Chandrakot hit Thapa at Ripaha on Saturday evening. Thapa, who was injured in the accident, was sent to Lumbini Medical College in Palpa after general treatment at a local health post.

Thapa died while undergoing treatment last night, police said. Police have impounded the jeep driver and impounded the vehicle.
