Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane has been granted bail by the Kathmandu District Court in connection with the Swarna Laxmi Cooperatives fraud case.
Lamichhane, who reached the court this morning, received the date. Lamichhane has been implicated in the Swarna Laxmi Cooperative fraud based in Kalimati, Kathmandu.
The case was filed against Lamichhane on January 7, 2081 at Kathmandu District Court on the charge of embezzling money of the Swarna Laxmi Savings and Credit Cooperative. A total of 690 savers of Swarna Laxmi had filed 93 complaint complaints. There are 39 defendants in the case.
Lamichhane’s public prosecutor has demanded Rs 5,78,98,480 from Lamichhane.
Police investigation has revealed that Rs 5,78,98,480 was taken from Swarnalaxmi Multi-purpose Cooperatives in Gorkha Media Network illegally.
