Kathmandu. Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Sunil Lamsal has directed the employees not to pay extra fee or commission to the employees during the contract process.

Minister Lamsal met Rabi Singh, president of the Federation of Contractors’ Associations of Nepal (FCAN) and directed him not to pay extra fees to the contractors’ employees. Issuing a notice about the meeting with the ministers, the FNCCI said in a statement.

“In the context of public complaints of massive financial irregularities in the infrastructure development sector, the contractors have been directed not to pay additional fees to any level and level of government officials in connection with under-construction projects in the coming days,” reads the meeting.

Similarly, the contractors have been directed to inform the minister directly to bring such officials under the purview of the prevailing laws in case any government officials demand such fees.
