Kathmandu. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against Company Secretary of National Grid Company Rajesh Pokhrel.
To be appointed as a company secretary, one should have a bachelor’s degree in law. However, Pokhrel took the appointment as he was not qualified, according to the charge sheet.
He was found to have submitted a fake experience certificate for the job.
During the investigation, it was found that the experience certificate submitted by Pokhrel stating that he was working as a senior officer at Garjang Valley Hydropower Company was fake. According to the CIAA, he was not employed by the concerned company during that period and there is no record of the certificate.
He was appointed to the post of Company Secretary on service contract basis on 10th Falgun 2073 BS. According to the CIAA, he had received perks worth Rs 10.7 million from mid-March 2016 to Mangsir 2082.
The Commission has filed a case at the Special Court demanding imprisonment and fine for obtaining public office by submitting false information.
