Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Health Insurance Board (HIB) has warned of action as per the law after various hospitals and health institutions were found to be reluctant to provide health insurance services and not providing necessary facilities to the patients.
The Board has urged the health providers to provide health services in a smooth manner after it was found that some service providing health institutions were harassing the insured service recipients and not providing service in course of providing service under the insurance program.
The Board has said that its attention has been drawn towards the fact that health institutions have to take time in advance to get insurance services, discriminatory behavior towards the insured and not providing necessary services, facilities and medicines. The Board has also warned not to carry out activities violating the Health Insurance Act, 2074, Health Insurance Regulations, 2075 and prevailing laws.
Executive Director of the Health Insurance Board, Krishna Prasad Poudel, said that action would be taken as per the Health Insurance Act, 2074 if any service providing health institution is found violating the rules.
