Persa. In the first seven months of the current fiscal year, vehicles and spare parts worth Rs 23.57 billion have entered Nepal via Birgunj.
In terms of value, import of motor vehicles and spare parts increased by Rs 6.42 billion compared to the same period of the last fiscal year.
Udaya Singh Bista, information officer at the Birgunj Customs Office, said that the import of vehicles and spare parts has increased in the current fiscal year.
The Customs Office collected Rs 16.73 billion revenue from the import of vehicles and spare parts in the first seven months of the current fiscal year. Whereas in the first seven months of the last fiscal year, revenue of Rs 13.26 billion was collected from the import of vehicles and spare parts.
In the first seven months of the current fiscal year, 609 fuel-powered jeeps, cars and vans were imported worth Rs 1.16 billion. Revenue of Rs 2.86 billion has been collected from the import of these vehicles.
In the first seven months of the last fiscal year, 748 fuel-powered jeeps, cars and vans were imported. Revenue of Rs 3.73 billion was collected while importing vehicles.
