Kathmandu. In the first eight months of the current fiscal year, the current account surplus stood at Rs 552.85 billion. In the same period of the previous year, the current account had surplus of Rs 197.03 billion.
The current account of the country has surplus Rs. 3.88 billion in the same period of the current fiscal year as against Rs. 1.46 billion in the same period last year. Net capital transfer in the review period stood at Rs 12.59 billion. Such transfer income was Rs. 6.41 billion in the same period of the previous FY.
As of mid-March, Rs 10.84 billion foreign direct investment (equity only) has been inflowed. Such foreign direct investment (equity only) had amounted to Rs 8.47 billion in the same period of the previous year.
The balance of payment stood at Rs 658.35 billion as of mid-March. In the same period of the last fiscal year, the balance of payment stood at Rs. 310.37 billion. The balance of payment in US Dollars in the review period stood at Rs. 4.61 billion as against Rs. 2.29 billion in the same period of the previous year.
