. KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RJP) President Rabi Lamichhane has said that the government would repay the debt given to them by fulfilling their responsibility.

Addressing the very first meeting of the first session of the House of Representatives (HoR) today, party president Lamichhane clarified that the people had voted for him not to run Singha Durbar, but to relocate Singha Durbar.

“We came to this place with questions. We have to prove ourselves not by words but by actions. We will learn from the shortcomings of the past,” Lamichhane said, adding, “This parliament will be the venue for debate, not for revenge.” There will be no unjust retribution and atrocities against the opposition, but the pace of good governance will not stop. Everyone in the RSP will have to prove themselves not by words, but by actions. ”

Arguing that the law would not be amended to save oneself and to trap others, he said that the first right of the martyr’s mother to get justice could not be termed as revenge.

Saying the private sector, which has been suppressed by middlemen and mafia, would not be pressured under such pressure, Lamichhane expressed the commitment of the government to create equal opportunity and create business environment for the private sector. He pledged not to discriminate on the basis of caste and gender, pledged to pay special attention to the education and health of children and respect the senior citizens.

Expecting that the party would voluntarily pave the way for those who took political appointments in the past, he clarified that the new appointments would follow the rules and standards of qualification. President Lamichhane said the appointment of ambassadors would be centered on the welfare of workers and not under the influence of middlemen.

Stating that the capital, skills and discipline of the Non-Resident Nepalis would be utilized for the economic development of Nepal, he said the country would adopt a friendly and transparent foreign policy by taking the opposition along with it.
