. Vice-President of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSS) DP Aryal has been elected Speaker of the House of Representatives.

According to Federal Parliament Secretariat, only Aryal filed his candidacy at the time allotted for the registration of candidacy, according to Federal Parliament Spokesperson Joint Secretary Ekram Giri. With this, Aryal was elected unopposed.

The time for filing candidacy was from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm today.

Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President and member of the House of Representatives, Rabi Lamichhane, proposed the proposal. Swarnim Wagle, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sobita Gautam and Minister for Physical Infrastructure Sunil Lamsal were also in favour of the proposal.

A meeting of the House of Representatives scheduled for Sunday would declare him elected unopposed.
