Kathmandu. The Supreme Court has issued an interim order to take new admissions in schools only after the start of the academic session.
The schools have been ordered not to publish the notice of admission as the results of the annual examination of the students have not been published, the academic session has not started and the original certificates including the mark sheet have not been received as per Rule 78 (1) (c) of the Education Rules, 2059.
A single bench of Justice Bal Krishna Dhakal issued the order to start the student admission process after the commencement of education as per the Education Regulations, 2059 BS. The new academic session starts from April 2 every year.
The order states that coordination should be maintained between examination results, academic session and required certificates. The court directed the concerned body to act in accordance with the prevailing law and asked the defendants to submit a written reply within 15 days.
In a notice published by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and Education Development and Human Resource Development Center, Sanothimi, Bhaktapur on March 19, the government had directed to conduct the admission program only after the start of the new academic session 2083 after conducting the annual examination and publishing the results. However, contrary to the directive, the notice of admission of students has been published through various print and electronic media recently, according to the court order.
