A committee has been formed under the coordination of the Director General to study the land within Fewa Lake’s four forts.

Kathmandu. The government has formed a 5-member probe committee to find out the current status of the land within Char Fort of Fewa Lake.

The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation has formed a 5-member committee under the coordination of Director General of the Department of Land Management and Records.

The committee will study the current status of the land within the boundary of the four forts of Fewa Lake and the structures constructed and will also collect the details of all the plots of land within the Fewa Lake area and document it. According to the Ministry, a detailed study would be carried out on the status of private and government land, its registration status and its use.

The Ministry has formed a committee to make the conservation and management of the Fewa Lake area effective. According to the ministry, the committee has been given 7 days to submit a report with exact details of all the plots within the lake area. Pokhara—Pokhara Metropolitan City (PMC) has launched a campaign to vacate the encroached Fewa Lake area after Prime Minister Balen Shah showed interest in the conservation of Fewa Lake.
