Kathmandu. Today, Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle and Nepal Stock Brokers Association held a meeting at the Ministry of Finance today.

During the meeting that lasted for half an hour this morning, the latest developments of the share market were discussed. General Secretary of the Association, Bhaktiram Ghimire, said that serious discussions were held on the issues affecting the small investors due to the continuous fall in the market after the formation of the new government.

The association said that it has demanded the government to make its views public on the market, saying it cannot be raised after the market deteriorates. He reminded the minister that the market was terrified after the government arrested businessmen in the name of money laundering in recent times.

He said that he had reminded the minister that the market had fallen due to the government’s overreach.

Ghimire said that the association has also urged the minister to complete the remaining works of the government for market reform on time, remove the 6-month cap imposed on banks and financial institutions, bring non-resident Nepalis in the market easily, clarify whether the capital gains tax is final or advance, and direct SEBON and NEPSE for its implementation.

During the meeting, the minister urged the investors not to be disappointed.
