Kathmandu. President Ram Chandra Poudel has urged the Non-Resident Nepalis (NRNs) to make use of the huge potential of the investment in Nepal and encourage the investors of the countries where they reside to invest in their motherland.
During a meeting with the newly-elected office-bearers of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) at the President’s Office, Shital Niwas, today, he urged the NRNA officials to lead the country towards good governance, development and prosperity and enhance Nepal’s prestige in the international arena.
“There is huge potential for investment in hydropower, tourism, agriculture, infrastructure, information and communication, education and health sectors in Nepal,” he said, adding that the world’s largest population like India and China and large markets are close to us. ”
Stating that the difficult and complex situation of the country has got an outlet from the recently concluded election to the House of Representatives, President Poudel said that the people have now given the mandate to move ahead towards development and prosperity along with social justice through good governance. He also pointed out the need to move ahead by adopting certain norms, principles, and philosophies of the federal democratic republic, according to the President’s Secretariat.
President Poudel said works were ahead with a master plan to develop Chundi Ramgha, the birthplace of Adikavi Bhanubhakta Acharya, into a literary tourism destination.
On the occasion, President Bhandari congratulated the newly elected president and office-bearers of the Non-Resident Nepali World Conference and wished that the committee would be successful in creating a feeling that the organization is a common organization of all by incorporating all the Non-Resident Nepalis across the world. On the occasion, newly elected President of the Association, Dr Hemraj Sharma, shed light on the activities and future plans of the Association.
