Kathmandu. The Land Revenue Office has collected Rs 18.66 million in revenue in the first eight months of the current fiscal year 2082/83. According to the office, the amount of revenue was collected under various headings from mid-July to mid-March.

Mohan Bahadur Bista, chief of the office, said that the highest revenue of Rs 12.6 million has been collected from the registration fee of land and property. Similarly, Rs 5,734,536 was collected as capital gains tax and Rs 313,869 as miscellaneous tax.

Out of the revenue amount, the capital gains tax will be sent to the federal government. Apart from this, there is a provision to send the revenue amount under the headings of certificates, mortgages, mortgages, amendments, house maintenance, namsari late fees and other headings to the provincial government, Bista said. As per the bill, 40 per cent of the total revenue is to be sent to the provincial government and 60 per cent to the concerned local government.

Last year, Rs 24 million was collected under various revenue headings. Out of this, Rs 14.22 million was collected from house and land registration fee, Rs 9.8 million 24 thousand as service tax, Rs 364,000 as revenue from guthi and Rs 8.429 lakh as capital gains tax.
