15 Indian pilgrims injured in bus-truck collision

Myagdi. MYAGDI: Fifteen Indian pilgrims were injured when a bus collided with a truck at Beni municipality-9, Jaleshwor in Myagdi district this evening. The bus (Ga 2 Kha 1457) was heading to Pokhara from Mustang and the bus (Ga 2 Kha 1457) was heading towards Dana Rupse from Bhairahawa. The accident took place when a truck (01001 Kha 0012) collided.

According to District Police Office, Myagdi’s Police Inspector Sagar Timilsina, the front portion of the bus and the truck have been completely damaged. Of the 24 passengers on the bus, nine including the driver and helper are skilled. Police Inspector Timilsina said the injured were returning from Muktinath pilgrimage of Mustang.

The deceased have been identified as Deepak Raj Mittal (62), Shankar Lal Keshwani (63), Kriti Sharma (42), Gaurav Seni (38) from Uttar Pradesh, Raj Adolia (72), Simran Sahay (20) from Gujarat, Prema Sharma (67) from Haryana, Alka Gupta (53) from Uttar Pradesh, Arvind Bhatt (58) from Jaipur, Rajasthan (Rajasthan), Ram Gopal Sharma (69) and Bandana Sharma (48) from Delhi, Richa Kaushik (37) and Gaurav Kaushik (39) from Madhya Pradesh. Vineet Goel (48) and Niru Chaudhary (42) were injured in the incident.

According to the hospital, most of the injured have sustained injuries on their faces, hands and legs. Police have said that bus driver Bikash GC, 31, of Machhapuchhre rural municipality-4, Kaski and truck driver Narayan Prasad Sharma, 28, of Jaljala rural municipality-7, Dhairing are in contact with police.
