PM Shah meets ambassadors and chiefs of diplomatic missions of different countries

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Balendra Shah held a meeting with the ambassadors and chiefs of diplomatic missions of different countries to Nepal today.

Prime Minister Shah held a group meeting with them at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Singha Durbar.

Ambassadors of India, Pakistan, Republic of Korea, Britain, Qatar, Switzerland, France, Israel, Japan, Bangladesh, Germany, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, China, the United States of America and the United Nations will be present during the visit. Heads of mission were present.

On the occasion, ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions congratulated PM Shah and wished him a successful term. They also pledged their support and cooperation in the works of the Government of Nepal that would yield results in the interest of the people of Nepal.

Reiterating Nepal’s balanced and pragmatic foreign policy, the Prime Minister underscored the need to further strengthen relations with neighbours, friendly countries and development partners based on trust, mutual respect and shared prosperity.

Stating that peace was a common priority, he said the security and welfare of Nepali workers and Nepali community abroad was the top priority of the government.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister expressed the government’s firm commitment to good governance, economic development and improving the living standard of the Nepali people.

Also present on the occasion were Minister for Foreign Affairs Sishir Khanal, Political Advisor to the Prime Minister Asim Shah, Chief Secretary Suman Raj Aryal, Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai and other government officials.
