In a press release on Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the agreement on a two-week ceasefire was a positive step to ease tensions in the Middle East. It has created opportunities for dialogue, diplomacy and peaceful resolution of differences.

The government has taken the ceasefire as a positive initiative towards promoting regional peace and stability, stressing the need of peaceful resolution of disputes. Expressing concern over the human impact caused by the conflict, the statement stressed the need to ensure the safety and well-being of civilians.

“The Government of Nepal supports all efforts being made by the international community to promote lasting peace and stability regionally and globally.
