Kathmandu. CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said that he was released after the government kept him in custody for 13 days.

Oli, who was released today, wrote a status on social media Facebook some time ago. “With prejudice and vindictiveness, I was held in unlawful detention for 13 days on criminal charges against the government, but I have finally been released due to lack of evidence to prosecute me,” he wrote on Facebook.

Oli has expressed gratitude to all those who raised their voice for his release. “I express my gratitude to all justice-loving sisters and brothers who have raised voice for my release, legal practitioners, justice activists, various political parties, politicians and media persons who have been fighting for justice. “I express my high respect to the respected Supreme Court for issuing the mandamus order,” he wrote on Facebook, adding, “I am also grateful to the police administration for treating me humanely while under police custody and the family of the TU Teaching Hospital (TUTH) who are engaged in my treatment.” I wish speedy recovery to all the injured who were bruised by the intense crackdown on those demanding my release. The state should bear the medical expenses of them, and if the state is indifferent to this, the party will bear the medical expenses,” he said. Informing that he will be treated at the hospital for a few days due to his adverse health condition, I express my heartfelt gratitude to all the leaders and cadres of the party and all well-wishers for their goodwill and best wishes at this hour. ’’
