Kathmandu. Legendary singer Asha Bhosle passed away on Sunday. Blessed with her voice, who enriched Indian cinema and music for over eight decades, her death has left the entire art world in mourning. He was 92 years old.
He died while undergoing treatment at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. Pratip Samdani confirmed. According to doctors, she breathed her last due to multi-organ failure.
According to hospital sources, Asha Bhosle was admitted to the hospital on Saturday evening after she complained of extreme fatigue and chest infection. Doctors said the condition was getting worse even though the treatment was continuing.
Earlier, his granddaughter, Janai Bhosale, took to social media to ask for privacy for the family and informed about his health condition. He confirmed he had been admitted to hospital and said he was receiving treatment and hoping for improvement.
Asha Bhosle was born in 1933 and started her musical journey at a very young age. Since the 1950s, her voice has become very popular in Indian film music and she has gradually established herself as one of the most celebrated playback singers in the world.
His voice is characterized by emotional depth, adaptability and versatility. From classical music to ghazals, cabaret, pop and folk songs, she has left an impact with her voice in various genres. She played an important role in making Indian music known globally by recording thousands of songs in different languages of India.
His collaborations with prominent music composers and filmmakers are considered to have taken Hindi film music to new heights. His songs are still considered timeless and are equally popular among the new generation.
He was honoured by the Government of India with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award and the Padma Vibhushan. In 2011, Guinness World Records recognized him as the most recorded artist in music history.
