Palpa. The oxygen plant, which was closed for two years, has been reopened. The plant has been brought into operation after managing and maintaining skilled manpower.
The oxygen plant constructed at Palpa Hospital by allocating budget from the federal government during the time of Corona had been damaged for the past few years. Locals have expressed happiness that the problem of oxygen shortage will be resolved once the plant comes into operation. Earlier, in the absence of oxygen plant, we had to bring oxygen from Butwal and Bhairahawa.
Deputy Mayor of Tansen Municipality, Pratiksha Gaha Sinjali, said that the operation of the oxygen plant in the district has made it easier for all the patients along with other hospitals. He expressed the belief that the operation of the plant will not only help the patients admitted to Palpa Hospital but also to supply oxygen cylinders to Lumbini Medical College, Mission Hospital, Rampur Hospital and private medical clinics in the district.
The district consumes four to five hundred oxygen cylinders monthly. According to Ajaya Man Karmacharya, chairman of Palpa Hospital Development Committee, oxygen cylinders are being sold at Rs 350 for small and 650 for big ones. He said that the production of oxygen in the district will also save the transportation cost and time of the hospitals here.
Committee Chair Karmacharya said that the oxygen plant was important to make Palpa Hospital convenient, reliable and reliable. “Our main objective is to ensure that no patient dies untimely due to lack of oxygen,” he said. ”
Officiating Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr Rajendra Poudel, said that the hospital has planned to start the surgery by the first week of April. The Ministry of Finance under the federal government had approved a budget of Rs 15 million for operating the oxygen plant in May 2078.
The plant was brought into operation by purchasing equipment from the amount approved by the government. A building has been constructed near the hospital at a cost of Rs 26 lakh. Although it was easy to operate the plant during Covid, after the closure of the plant, chronic patients have been suffering.
