Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Gorkhas has won the first match of the second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) underway in Kathmandu today. Kathmandu Rhinos defeated Chitwan Rhinos by 53 runs.
Chasing the target of 143 runs, Chitwan was limited to 89 runs in 17.2 overs losing all wickets. Dev Khanal and Ravi Bopara scored 21÷21 runs each while Sohail Tanvir scored 18 runs. For Kathmandu, Rashid Khan took three wickets while skipper Karan KC, Sashab Alam and Milind Kumar took ÷two wickets each.
Invited to bat first after losing the toss, Kathmandu made only 142 runs losing all wickets in 19.4 overs. Milind Kumar (38) and John Simpson (60) were the top scorers for the team. Sohail Tanvir took four wickets for Chitwan, Kamal Singh Airee took two wickets and Ranjit Kumar took two wickets.
