Kathmandu. Two matches are taking place today under the second edition of Nepal Premier League (NPL).

In the first match to be played at Tribhuvan International Cricket Stadium at 11:45 am, Lumbini Lions will take on Pokhara Avengers while defending champions Janakpur Bolts will take on Janakpur Bolts at 4:00 pm.

Lumbini under the captaincy of Rohit Poudel and Pokhara under the captaincy of Kushal Bhurtel have won one out of three matches. Lumbini is in the seventh position and Pokhara is in the sixth position in the points index. Both teams need to win this game to keep their playoff chances alive.

Janakpur will take on Sudurpaschim in the second match of the day. Janakpur is aiming to register its first win by winning today’s match after playing three matches. Janakpur, which is at the bottom of the points table, is likely to be out of the playoff race if it does not win this match.

On the other hand, Sudurpaschim is in the first position of the points table after winning all four matches. Far-Western wants to secure its place in the playoffs by winning today’s match. Apart from this, Sudurpaschim will also be looking to avenge their loss to Janakpur in the final of last edition.
