Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Most parts of the country will receive less than average rainfall during the winter season from November 29 to March 29.
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology said the maximum and minimum temperature will be above normal.
As per the weather forecast made public by the Division, there is possibility of below normal and above normal rainfall in the northern parts of Sudurpaschim and Karnali Province and in the north-west region of Gandaki Province this winter. According to Department information officer Dinkar Kayastha, there is a possibility of 55 to 65 percent less rainfall than normally normally in eastern and southern parts of Sudurpaschim province, southern region of Karnali province, western region of Lumbini, southern region of Bagmati province, northern region of Madhes and central and eastern region of Koshi province.
Similarly, there is possibility of less than 45 to 55 per cent rainfall in the central region of Sudurpaschim and Karnali Province, central and eastern parts of Lumbini, eastern region of Gandaki, central and northern region of Bagmati Province, southern region of Madhes and Koshi Province while 35 to 45 percent rainfall is likely to occur in the rest of the country.
Maximum Temperature Assessment
Similarly, the maximum temperature is expected to be above normal in most parts of the country. According to Meteorological Forecasting Division, there is likelihood of more than 55 to 65 per cent maximum temperature in the northern and southern parts of Gandaki State, southern and southern parts of Bagmati Province and in the northern and southwest parts of Koshi Province.
Likewise, there are chances of 44 to 55 more than normal temperatures in the northern part of Karnali Province, in the northern part of Lumbini Province, and in the rest of Koshi, Bagmati Province and Gandaki Province. According to the Meteorological Forecasting, there is a possibility of 35 to 45 percent maximum temperature in the southwest part of Karnali Province and in the western part of Lumbini Province.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, there are chances of below-normal, above normal maximum temperature in the southern part of Lumbini Province and in the Madhes Province.

Similarly, the Division has said that the minimum temperature will be above normal throughout the country.
Likewise, there are chances of more than 55 to 65 percent rainfall at most of the places of the northern and southwest regions of the Sudurpaschim Province, at the central and northern parts of Karnali Province, at some places of Lumbini Province, at the north-east and southwest parts of Bagmati Province, at most of the places of Madhes Province and at the south and northwest parts of Koshi Province. Similarly, in the rest of the country, there is a 35 to 55 percent chance of being above average.
