Cardamom exports up by 109.20 per cent

Cover. Cardamom exports from Mechi Customs Office have increased by 109.20 percent in the first four months of the current fiscal year.

According to the statistics of the office, cardamom worth Rs 3.97 billion was exported during the period.TAG_OPEN_div_27

In the past four months, 1,TAG_OPEN_div_25 823.90 metric tons of cardamom has been exported, said Ishwar Kumar Humagain, information officer at the Mechi Customs Office.

He said that cardamom worth Rs 1.90 billion was exported in the same period of the previous fiscal year 2081/82.TAG_OPEN_div_23

According to the statistics of the office, the export of tea has decreased by 37.7 TAG_OPEN_div_21 0 percent in the first four months of the current fiscal year. Tea worth Rs 1.37 billion was exported during the period.

Information Officer Humagain said that tea worth Rs 2.20 billion was exported in the same period of the previous fiscal year 2081/82.TAG_OPEN_div_19

According to the office’s data, the main commodity exports increased by 134.80 percent, chhurpi by 33 percent, ginger, lettuce by 3.20 percent, cauliflower, broccoli and cabbage by 36.10 percent and lentils by 481 percent.TAG_OPEN_div_17

Similarly, the export of padded decreased by 52.7 TAG_OPEN_div_15 0 percent, Amriso by 23.90 percent and iron sheets by 97.30 percent. In the first four months of the current fiscal year 2082÷83, goods worth Rs 7.96 billion have been exported.
