Nepal stresses on financial and integrated cooperation in LDC meeting

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal has stressed that the transformation of Least Developed Countries (LDCs) into developing countries should be a proud journey towards prosperous societies and sustainable development.

Likewise, Nepal has laid special emphasis on financial and integrated support to the least developed countries.

At a high-level meeting on ‘Building Global Partnership for Sustainable Development of LDCs’ organized by the Office of the UN High Representative for Least Developed Landlocked Developing and Small Island Countries and Qatar Fund in Doha on Thursday, as the Chair of the LDC Group, Amrit Bahadur Rai stressed these issues.

On the occasion, the foreign secretary met with Devdutta Maharaj, managing director of the United Nations Technology Bank, and expressed his expectation of the Bank’s support to facilitate Nepal’s transformation from least developed countries, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On the occasion, the two leaders also discussed the role of the bank and opportunities for collaboration.
