NPL 2018: Kathmandu Gurkhas win toss and elect to bat first

Kathmandu. Kathmandu Gorkhas won the toss and elected to bat first in the match held under the second edition of Nepal Premier League (NPL).

In the toss held at Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground, Kirtipur, Kathmandu won the toss and invited Lumbini Lions to bowl first. The winner of this match will now take on Biratnagar Kings in the second qualifier on Tuesday.

Monty Desai-led Kathmandu finished third and made it to the playoff. Kathmandu has so far won five out of seven matches. Kathmandu was deprived of the first qualifier as it lagged behind in net run rate.

Lumbini Lions, on the other hand, qualified for the second round by finishing fourth. Lumbini had won four out of seven matches. In the league match, Kathmandu had defeated Lumbini by 22 runs.

The Far-Western Royals have already reached the final of the tournament. In the first qualifier match held on Tuesday, Sudurpaschim defeated Biratnagar to reach the final.

KC Squad: Karan KC, Akash Tripathi, Adil Ansari, Shahab Alam, Bhim Sarki, Rashid Khan, Santosh Yadav, Wayne Charlesbeth, Milind Kumar, Sunny Patel and John Samson.

Rohit Paudel, Sher Malla, Abhishesh Gautam, Dinesh Adhikari, Tilak Raj Bhandari, Jez Smith, Sandeep Jora, Dilip Nath, Reuben Trumpman, Niroshan Dickwella and Darcy Short are in the playing XI.
