Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection (DoM) on Sunday inspected 14 different industries and firms in Kathmandu. Among them, two have been brought under the purview of action, the department said in a statement.
The Department has slapped Rs 5,000 fine to Dahal Cow Farm based in Kageshwori Manohara-9, Mahantar. According to the Department, action was taken against the offender as per Section 15 and Section 38 (d) of the Consumer Protection Act, 2075.
Similarly, DNS Timber and Furniture Industry based in Kageshwori Manohara-9, Gothatar has been directed to submit to the department within three days with business related documents. The department has directed 12 other industries or firms with some suggestions to improve them immediately.
The Department has been carrying out market monitoring and inspection on all days except public holidays with the help of local administration. The department has made it clear that it is active to maintain cleanliness in the market, issue invoices and end black marketing.
According to the latest data provided by the Department, it had monitored 11 industries and firms on December 11. On December 10, it had monitored 20 industries or firms. On that day, Dawa Shoes and Fashion Center was fined Rs 50,000.
Similarly, it had monitored 13 firms on December 9. On that day, four firms were fined Rs 50,000. It had monitored 15 firms on December 9 and fined Rs 50,000 to three firms after monitoring 15 firms on December 6.
