Kathmandu. Police have arrested a man on the charge of cheating people of Rs 52 lakh on the pretext of sending them to the UK for foreign employment.
According to the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, 50-year-old Lal Bahadur Baraili of Pokhara Metropolitan City-15 in Kaski and currently living in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-12 has been arrested.
Spokesperson of the District Police Office, Kaji Kumar Acharya, said that Baraili was arrested acting on a complaint that Baraili had taken Rs 52 lakh from a victim in the name of taking him to the UK for employment and kept him for a long time and went out of contact without sending him to the UK.
Spokesperson Acharya said that Baraili has been sent to the Foreign Employment Department Tahachal for further investigation and necessary action. KATHMANDU: Police have urged one and all to remain alert towards the increasing trend of fraud in the name of sending people abroad for employment.
