Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Police have arrested a jeweller on the charge of stealing gold and silver.

A team from Police Circle, Balaju arrested Bikash Lakai, 54, of Bhimeshwor Municipality-7 in Dolakha and currently living in Dallu, Kathmandu on the charge of stealing gold ornaments from a house at Balaju Bypass of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-16.

Spokesperson of the District Police Range, Kathmandu, Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar Bhattarai said the proprietor of Sita Jewellers Dallu was involved in the theft of gold ornaments from a house in the bypass.

Spokesperson Bhattarai said that police confiscated 14 gold necklaces, nine gold lockets, eight gold mangalsutras, five gold noses and three pieces of gold lockets. Police said that necessary investigation is underway into the case.
