Petroleum products worth Rs 8.75 billion imported from Kakarbhitta

Jhapa. Petroleum products worth Rs 7.84 billion have been imported from Kakarvitta in the current fiscal year 2082/83 till mid-November. Petrol, diesel, LP gas, ATF and kerosene have been imported from the eastern border point.

According to Mechi Customs Office’s information officer Ishwar Kumar Humagain, the import of petroleum products increased by 3.10 per cent compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year. With the rise in import, revenue from petroleum products has increased by 2.50 per cent or Rs 94.295 million, Information Officer Humagain said.

According to the statistics of the office, Rs 3.80 billion revenue has been collected from the import of petroleum products in the first five months of the current fiscal year. A total of 43,160 kilolitres of petrol worth Rs 3.82 billion was imported during the period. Likewise, 26,120 kilolitres of diesel worth Rs 2.53 billion was imported.

Similarly, 10,480 metric tonnes of LP gas worth Rs 1 arba 16 million, 3,580 kilolitres ATF worth Rs 328.2 million and 680 kilolitres kerosene worth Rs 63.1 million were imported in the first five months of the period.
