Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Chandra Prasad Dhakal, has said that the private sector has become the first target of the Zenji movement in the country.
Inaugurating the Kohalpur Festival organized in Kohalpur today, Dhakal questioned, “Whether it is the people’s movement of 2062/63 BS, the Jenji movement of March last year or the Jenji movement of August last year, the private sector has always been the target of attack.” This has had a negative impact on the private sector and the overall economy.
Dhakal argued that the state should make everyone aware that the private sector is not the engine of country’s economy and the base of Nepal’s prosperity.
Stating that the entire private sector of the country which was reeling under crisis due to earthquake, Covid pandemic and other reasons have now been destroyed by the fire, the Prime Minister expressed the view that one and all should move ahead by boosting their morale.
He said that the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), the umbrella organization of the country’s entire private sector, has been holding talks with the government to boost the morale of the private sector and the Prime Minister has assured that the ‘Private Sector Protection Plan’ presented to the government for the protection of the private sector will be approved by the Council of Ministers.
Stating that the private sector, which contributes at least 81 per cent to the country’s economy, was demoralized at present, Dhakal expressed the belief that such fairs and festivals would also help to revitalize the economic activities.
President Dhakal also urged the organizers to promote local products and motivate local talents by preserving indigenous products, culture and traditions.
