Kathmandu. Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagdish Kharel inaugurated the voice over long term evolution (VoLTE) capacity enhancement project of Ncell at Pokhara on Sunday.
He formally inaugurated the project by switching on the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) system, which has been expanded to provide VoLTE and Voice over Wi-Fi (VoFi) services through state-of-the-art servers.
With this capacity addition, Ncell will now be able to provide vobule service to 50 lakh active customers through this data center. VoLTE is the latest technology in the field of telecommunication services, providing high quality High Definition (HD) and fast connecting voice calls.
Similarly, Ncell Vo-Fi is a technology that enables users to make and receive phone calls from their own Ncell number using any Wi-Fi. Through this, users can send HD voice calls and SMS. Especially in basements, tall buildings or remote areas where there is stable Wi-Fi, it is easy to stay connected through VoFi.
Minister Kharel visited Ncell’s Disaster Recovery Centre in Pokhara during his visit, inspection and meeting with various offices in Pokhara. Ncell’s Chief Corporate and Regulatory Officer Dilliram Shrestha and Corporate Communication and Sustainability Director Bishakha Laxmi Khadka welcomed Minister Kharel.
