. KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and the Bright Nepal Party have merged with the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP). With the signing of the Comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two parties, the integration of alternative forces in Nepali politics has taken place.
According to the agreement, the party has been united with the common goal of institutionalizing good governance, anti-corruption, social justice and inclusive democratic practices in the changed political context.TAG_OPEN_p_14 Tributes were paid to the martyrs and injured by internalizing the spirit of the movement against corruption and misgovernance raised by the youths.
After the unification, the name of the party will be Rastriya Swatantra Party.TAG_OPEN_p_13 The election symbol of the party will be ‘Bell’ and the party’s central office will be located in Kathmandu Valley. Rabi Lamichhane will be the central president of the party while Kulman Ghising, DP Aryal and Swarnim Wagle will be the vice presidents.
{{TAG_OPEN_p_12} The campaigns, organizations and programs of the Ujyalo Nepal Party will be integrated into the structure of the RSP. As per the agreement, the party would be strengthened, broadened and effective after the unification and appropriate adjustment of youth activists and experienced personalities. Competence, inclusivity and public image will be taken into consideration while distributing responsibilities.
According to the agreement, the goal is to further strengthen the agenda of democratic good governance, prosperity and social justice by keeping the party’s principles, leadership and election symbol at the centre.TAG_OPEN_p_11 As per the agreement, the Election Commission will update all legal and formal processes related to unification.
The two sides signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at a program organized in Kathmandu.TAG_OPEN_p_10 Political analysts see this alliance as an important step towards institutionalizing alternative politics.
