18 EVs imported from Rasuwagadhi border point in a single day: 39 carrying apples, readymade clothes, medical goods entered Nepal

Rasuwa. Import of electric vehicles has started with the resumption of Rasuwagadhi border point.

According to the Border Security Post, Rasuwagadhi, 18 electric vehicles (EV Micro) entered Nepal from the Rasuwagadhi checkpoint on Saturday.

These vehicles were imported for the first time in the current fiscal year and are now in the parking area of Timure.

According to the customs office, the importers of these vehicles are in the process of paying revenue.

A total of 39 cargo containers carrying apples, readymade garlic, auto parts, walnut, electric batteries and medical appliances have entered Nepal on Saturday alone.

With the resumption of the Rasuwagadhi checkpoint from last Thursday, goods entered Nepal through 96 containers till Saturday and the customs clearance process in case of readymade goods would start from today, Customs Office spokesperson Thakur Gautam said.

He said that perishable goods like apples and walnuts were checked quickly and Rs 9 million 87 lakh revenue was deposited in two days after the opening of the checkpoint.
