Documents of more than ten thousand burnt cases prepared in Supreme Court

Kathmandu. More than 10,000 cases of arson have been prepared at the Supreme Court.

Of the 24,000 cases in the Supreme Court, 20,000 were burnt in a fire during the Genji agitation on September 10. Only four thousand files were saved from the fire.

According to Supreme Court Spokesperson Nirajan Pandey, as of January 7, the Office of the Attorney General has prepared the files of 10,340 cases that have been burnt so far.

The apex court had asked the Office of the Attorney General, Nepal Bar Association and the parties concerned to provide the files related to the burnt cases. Accordingly, the work of collecting the files of the case is underway.
