Kathmandu. The government has decided to maintain uniformity in the remuneration and facilities of officials and employees of various regulatory bodies, committees, boards, academies and public corporations. A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Monday has given the responsibility to the Ministry of Finance to make such arrangement based on the suggestions of the government task force.

The government has taken this step to remove the huge disparity in the facilities of the employees and officials working in different organizations. A task force was formed under the convenorship of former Deputy Auditor General Ram Prasad Dotel on July 26 to study the issue. The task force had submitted its report to the government in early November.

According to Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel, the Council of Ministers has entrusted the Ministry of Finance with the responsibility of making necessary arrangements for the implementation of the taskforce’s report. In its report, the task force pointed out that the perks and perks of employees and officials are different from organization to organization, which has created problems in administrative costs and equitable distribution. Now, the Ministry of Finance will prepare a new standard of remuneration and facilities to be applicable to all public bodies.
