Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has said that the party statute has considered the general convention as supreme and would move ahead by accepting whatever the general convention says.

He said this at a special general convention held at Bhrikutimanda in the capital.

“The NC statute has considered the general convention as supreme,” he said, adding, “This general convention may also change the party leader.” Thapa said that an appropriate decision would be taken after holding discussion in the closed session on Monday.

He also urged the general convention delegates to take the right decision tomorrow.

He said that he was ready to take the party to the right place even if he had to lose.

In the general convention, he asked why Nepal became a country of listening? Why is it a country of mistrust? They have asked. He raised this question in the special general convention of the Nepali Congress.

Thapa said that a situation has arisen in this country where nothing can be done without any talk.

He expressed concern that the country has reached a situation where ICU beds are available only if there is a shortage not only in government offices but also in hospitals.

He said that now it is necessary to give confidence to the country.
