Kathmandu. KATHMANDU — The filing of nominations for the upcoming House of Representatives elections is taking place in all the 10 constituencies of Kathmandu district.
According to Chief Election Officer of Kathmandu Churaman Khadka, the registration of nominations is taking place in all the 10 constituencies. According to him, separate dates have been set for the parties and candidates taking part in the election on the basis of all-party consensus to make the candidacy registration systematic and dignified. The filing of nominations will take place till 5:00 pm today.
As per the information received so far, two candidates have filed their candidacies in Kathmandu constituency-1. According to Chief Election Officer Khadka, an independent candidate and RPP have filed their candidacies in constituency no 1.
Similarly, in constituency no 10, Rastriya Janamorcha and Nepal Workers and Peasants Party have registered their candidacies. The Rastriya Janamorcha has already filed its candidacy in constituency no. 6 and 6.
KATHMANDU — Offices of the returning officers have been set up in all the 10 constituencies in Kathmandu for the upcoming House of Representatives election. The filing of nominations is taking place at the Cooperative Training Centre in New Baneshwor for constituency no. 1, Kageshwori Manohara municipality building for constituency no. 2, Gokarneshwor municipality ward no. 4 office and senior civil society building Chapali for constituency no. 4.
The Election Commission has set up the office of the returning officer at Shree Samaj Bhawan (Tokha Municipality) for Kathmandu Constituency No. 5, Dharmasthali for Tarkeshwor Municipality for Constituency No. 6, Multipurpose Martial Arts Center Judohal Khusibu Balaju for Kathmandu Constituency No. 7, Chandragiri Municipality Building for Province No. 8, Chandragiri Municipality Building for Constituency No. 9 and Baghbhairav Building of Kirtipur Municipality Ward No. 2 for Constituency No. 10.
The Election Commission has said that the registration of candidacy is underway in 165 electoral constituencies across the country today. There are 18,903,689 voters in the election, 10,967 polling stations and 23,112 polling stations.
